GE4000 Hebrew Cosmology (Independent Study)
This independent study course is designed to engage students in a critical examination of the Biblical cosmology in light of ancient worldview contexts and modern scientific paradigms. Participants will explore whether belief in the Bible is compatible with the heliocentric, spherical Earth model or if a literal reading of Scripture necessitates belief in a geocentric, flat Earth design.
The resurgence of flat Earth belief—particularly among individuals re-examining scriptural texts—has sparked renewed inquiry into the biblical worldview regarding the earth’s shape, motion, and placement within the cosmos. This course explores the intersection of biblical interpretation, cosmological models, and the history of science.
